The contract, payment, itinerary, safety and service conditions that apply when you book a journey with Great Adventure.
This policy forms part of the booking framework. Your booking confirmation may add trip-specific dates, prices, inclusions or requirements.
These terms apply to the treks, expeditions, climbing support, touring, logistics and related travel services supplied by Great Adventure (SMC-Private) Limited, called “Great Adventure”, “we” or “us”. The person named on the booking and every participant covered by it are called “you” or “the participant”.
Your contract is made up of these Booking Terms, your booking confirmation or accepted proposal, the policies in our Legal Centre and any written trip-specific conditions. The booking confirmation overrides a general term only where it clearly says so.
The lead booker confirms they are authorised to give information and accept these terms for everyone on the booking. Each adult participant stays responsible for reading and following the contract.
An enquiry, a proposed itinerary, an availability message or a provisional place is not a confirmed booking. A booking becomes binding only when we issue written confirmation after receiving the deposit and the information we need to accept you.
Acceptance can depend on group availability, minimum numbers, route feasibility, permits, medical and experience information, and a signed acknowledgement. We may decline a booking where the objective is unsuitable or the operating conditions cannot be met.
Check names, dates, services, prices and personal details as soon as you receive the confirmation and tell us about any error. Changes after permits, flights or supplier arrangements are made may cost extra.
Your booking confirmation states the price, currency, deposit, balance date, inclusions and exclusions. Unless it says otherwise, bank fees, exchange charges, personal expenses, visa fees, personal insurance, excess baggage, medical treatment, rescue, evacuation and costs caused by delays are not included.
A non-refundable deposit confirms your booking. It is 30% of the price for treks and trips of 12 days or fewer, and 50% for longer expeditions and treks with complex logistics. The deposit lets us reserve staff, transport, permits, flights and other services in advance. How it is treated on cancellation is set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
The balance is due on arrival in Skardu, or earlier if arranged in advance. You can pay the deposit by Wise, by international wire (SWIFT) to our bank account, or by Payoneer on request. Bank details are on your invoice. On arrival we accept cash in USD, EUR, GBP or PKR, or an advance bank transfer.
Payment must arrive in cleared funds by the stated date. If it is late, we may treat the booking as cancelled after written notice and a reasonable chance to put it right, and any resulting cancellation charge stays payable. If a government fee, tax, permit charge or royalty rises after you book, we may pass it on where the confirmation or the law allows it, and we will explain the reason and amount in writing.
A mountain itinerary describes an intended plan, not a guaranteed sequence or outcome. Weather, road and flight disruption, glacier and river conditions, illness, acclimatisation, government directions, permit limits, staff welfare and security can all force changes.
The leader or our operations team may change the route, timing, camp, transport, accommodation, staffing or objective where reasonably needed for safety, legality or practical operation. Reaching a summit, pass, base camp or any named objective is never guaranteed.
Where a significant change before departure is within our control, we will offer the reasonable alternatives available. Changes caused by events outside our control are handled under the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Requests to change dates, services, route or a participant name must be made in writing and are not accepted until we confirm them. Any price difference, administrative cost, permit amendment or third-party charge is paid by the participant.
A booking cannot be transferred or resold without our written approval. We may refuse where a permit is personal, an authority or supplier does not allow substitution, the replacement does not meet experience or medical requirements, or there is not enough time to process the change.
You must give accurate passport, visa, permit, emergency contact, experience, medical and insurance information by the deadlines we set. Our Visa & Permit Policy, Medical Fitness Policy and Travel Insurance & Rescue Policy are part of these terms.
If you do not meet a mandatory requirement you may not be able to take part, and this may be treated as a cancellation by you. Our acceptance of a booking does not confirm that you are medically fit, technically capable, insured or eligible for a visa or permit.
You must follow reasonable safety, environmental, legal and operational instructions from the leader, the guides and the authorities. The leader may require you to stop an activity, descend, change your position in the group or leave the journey where health, ability, equipment, conduct or conditions create an unacceptable risk.
Removal for a breach by the participant does not normally create a right to a refund. The participant is responsible for the resulting accommodation, transport, escort, medical, evacuation and repatriation costs, subject to the law.
Airlines, hotels, vehicle operators, permit authorities, insurers, rescue providers and other independent suppliers apply their own conditions. We coordinate these services as described in your booking, but we do not control every supplier decision, authority, aircraft, road or communications network.
We are not responsible for a failure caused by something that could not reasonably be prevented or controlled, including severe weather, natural hazard, epidemic, conflict, civil disturbance, government action, border or airspace restriction, transport shutdown, road closure or rescue unavailability. Refunds and recoverable costs are handled under the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Raise any concern with the trip leader as early as you reasonably can so the team can look into it and respond. If it is not resolved, send a written complaint with the relevant details to info@greatadv.com within 30 days after the scheduled end of the journey.
This contract is governed by the laws of Pakistan. We will first try to resolve a dispute in good faith, and an unresolved dispute may be brought before a court with proper jurisdiction.
If a term is found invalid or unenforceable, it is limited or removed only as far as needed and the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
