This is the master list we give every Great Adventure trekker. Not every item applies to every trip — a short cultural trip to Shigar Valley needs a fraction of what a 3-week Baltoro expedition does, and the Gondogoro La items only apply if your itinerary crosses that pass. When in doubt, ask us before you buy.

Main baggage — 14 kg limit, porter-carried. This is the duffel bag your porter carries for the whole trek, containing your sleeping bag, spare clothing, and everything you don't need during the walking day.
Daypack — 5–7 kg, self-carried. Carry this yourself each day: water, snacks, camera, rain jacket, sunscreen, and anything else you want quick access to on the trail.
Over the 14 kg main baggage limit? An extra charge applies per additional kg — porters are hired and paid by weight, so this isn't optional. Weigh your duffel before you leave home to avoid surprises in Skardu.
Don't need your city luggage on the trek? Leave it with us — we store it free of charge and securely at your Skardu hotel until you're back, so you're not paying a porter to carry clothes you won't wear on the trail.

Do not bring brand-new boots. The Baltoro glacier is uneven rock moraine for days at a time — unbroken-in boots are the single biggest cause of trek-ending blisters.

This equipment is used for a single descent day on the pass. We can arrange rental gear in Skardu if you'd rather not travel with your own — just mention it when you enquire.
