The preparation, conduct, documentation, health, equipment, environmental and team duties expected of every participant.
This policy forms part of the booking framework. Your booking confirmation may add trip-specific dates, prices, inclusions or requirements.
Read the itinerary, your booking confirmation, the equipment information and the Legal Centre policies before you accept a booking. Ask about anything you do not understand, and share these documents with everyone covered by the booking.
Give complete and truthful information about your identity, experience, health, insurance, emergency contacts, dietary needs and anything else relevant to the journey, and update us promptly when it changes.
Arrive with the fitness, skills, acclimatisation background and recent experience described for the trip. Complete any training we recommend, and judge honestly whether you can do the essential activities when tired, cold or at altitude.
Technical participants are responsible for keeping the skills needed for the equipment, movement, rescue systems and independent decisions that suit their level of support. Guided service does not replace the personal competence a trip requires.
Meet payment and information deadlines, and carry valid passports, visas, permits, insurance documents, emergency contacts and any medical or waiver forms we require.
Keep insurance in place for the exact route, altitude, activity and dates, and keep access to funds for personal costs, delays, medical care, rescue, evacuation and anything not included in your booking.
Bring the required clothing, footwear, technical equipment, medication and protective items in safe working order. Check fit and function before you travel, and ask about unfamiliar equipment at the briefing.
Follow the baggage and porter-load limits. Extra weight affects staff, animals, transport, food and group movement, and may be refused or charged for. Keep critical medication, documents, water, weather protection and warm layers in your daypack, and declare restricted, hazardous, valuable or specialist items to carriers and authorities.
Follow reasonable instructions about pace, timing, route, camp, ropes, equipment, hygiene, fire, communications, environmental protection and emergency action. Stay in the position or area your guide gives you, and do not leave the group without permission.
Accept that the leader can turn the group or one person around, require a descent, change the plan or end participation. Objectives and schedules never override safety, legality, staff welfare or the leader’s assessment.
Eat, drink, rest, protect yourself from sun and cold, and take medication as your doctor advises. Report headache, nausea, unusual tiredness, breathing difficulty, poor coordination, injury, infection, mental distress or any other worrying symptom early.
Do not hide symptoms to protect a summit or itinerary, and do not pressure another participant to continue against guide or medical advice. Help with reasonable team health checks while respecting privacy.
Follow the laws of Pakistan, permit conditions, local customs and the instructions given at checkpoints, protected areas, religious sites, villages and camps. Ask before photographing people, security locations or culturally sensitive places.
We do not accept harassment, discrimination, violence, threats, reckless behaviour, illegal drugs, unsafe intoxication, theft, deliberate damage, or conduct that endangers or seriously disturbs others.
Use the designated sanitation and waste systems, save water and fuel, do not disturb wildlife, leave cultural and natural objects where they are, and follow the instructions for batteries, human waste, packaging and damaged equipment.
Do not make unofficial trails, camps or fires, fly drones, film commercially or collect objects without approval. Respect shared resources and the privacy, livelihoods and customs of the host communities.
Treat guides, cooks, porters, drivers, hotel workers, liaison personnel and every member of the team with dignity. Do not ask a worker to go beyond load, safety, route or legal limits, or to hide an injury or a concern.
Report a concern about staff welfare or conduct to the leader or our operations team so it can be handled through the proper channel. Participant preferences never override staff safety or agreed working conditions.
We may warn, restrict, separate or remove a participant whose breach creates a safety, legal, operational, welfare or group problem. In urgent cases we may act without a prior warning.
A participant who is removed is responsible for the resulting transport, accommodation, escort, medical, evacuation, repatriation, damage, fine or other cost. Unused services are handled under the Cancellation & Refund Policy and do not normally create a refund where the removal was caused by the participant’s breach.
